New Executive... New Year... New Bike?
-
Well the outdoor riding portion of any cyclist's year is pretty well
been put on the" battery charger" and the waiting game begins. In
the meantime
CMC has installed its new executive for the the upcoming year and we
will have a few new faces come the December meeting .Thank you to
all members who stood for nomination. Although December is an
insanely busy month for us all ... cast your mind forward to the
upcoming annual bike show in January. We'll be there and of
course the call for volunteers to man the event will start at the
December meeting.
- Annual Award and Christmas Party - Nov 26 2011
CMC held their annual party at the Kensington Legion this year; members were treated to a full sit down turkey dinner (
a nice warm up to the season of eating followed by season of dieting).Glenn
McKean was awarded Clubperson of the Year. Well deserved and a
nice way to slip into his new role as 2012's Past President. As well
Glenn has finally achieved after some 30 plus years the High Mileage
award and if you squint you can still see some of Wade's dust on his
jacket! The photo contest was ramped up this year with the addition
of "Sprocket" (a super toothy little red fellow) who had to be somewhere in
the photo. Judging from the pixs that came in he sure got around.
Best Humour went to Bill Cole - for a cheeky Salt Lake City
"Sprocket and the Founding Fathers" pretty gutsy move on Mr. Cole's
part... he must know how fast and how far he can run...away that
is.! Wade Youngman won Sprocket a gold for Best Bike and People. Sprocket tucks in so neatly where ever he goes - ask the
gals down in Sturgis. "Hoo-doo you Love" well Sprocket of course and
for that matter so does Heather Mclean who won for Best Scenery.
Nice to see that such a well photographed Drumheller landmark
still has some new angles.
- This year marks some milestones for a few of our members...Congratulations are extended to Tessa Bunn for 25 years continual membership and to both Therese McKean and Bob McCuaig for 20 years continual membership
.
Talk to these people for "Tales from the Vault". I am sure there is
some "enlightened" material held in those collective memory
banks.
